FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years following their departure for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
